Doctor Who Series 12

It's been a longer than usual wait for the next series of Doctor Who – the 12th of the modern version, and the second for Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor (yes, it gets confusing with all these numbers). The show will be back next year after its last run in 2018, and we have a first full trailer for the next set of episodes.

Debuting on Saturday 23 November (which was the show's 56th birthday), the new trailer promises a lot of action for the current incarnation of the character, including a return for some old (and not-so-old) foes in the shape of the Cybermen and the mercenary space police known as the Judoon.

We can also expect the likes of Stephen Fry, Neil Stuke and Lenny Henry to show up as guest stars - Fry in particular appears to have a key role.

What we don't yet know is when the show will actually return beyond the promise of a series in 2020. Meanwhile, expect this new trailer to generate plenty of discussion for Terri and Boyd on a future Pilot TV Podcast while James sighs with a trademark mix of disgust and boredom.
