There's not much information to glean from this image, but for our money she looks pretty darn good – distinct from every other iteration, with a cape-like overcoat, solid walking boots and Mork-esque suspenders. Whittaker will make her debut in the Christmas Day special, the final appearance of outgoing Doctor Peter Capaldi, before a new series of 10 episodes arrives in autumn 2018, where the announced cast includes Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill, and Sharon D Clarke. Chris Chibnall takes over from outgoing producer Steven Moffat this year.
