With Encanto out in the world, Disney has now announced its next big animated project headed our way. And it's another original story – get ready for Strange World, due out in November next year.

Reuniting Raya And The Last Dragon director Don Hall with that film's co-writer Qui Nguyen (who steps up to co-direct this time), Strange World will voyage deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest — and by far — most crucial mission.

According to Hall, the biggest influence came from pulp magazines that featured fantastical tales. "I loved reading the old issues of pulps growing up,” he said. "They were big adventures in which a group of explorers might discover a hidden world or ancient creatures. They’ve been a huge inspiration for Strange World."

The movie will be in cinemas on 23 November, 2022.
