We've seen one trailer for new indie sci-fi romantic drama The Discovery, which favoured tone over plot. Now there's a little more detail on the story for the film in new footage. Take a look...

Directed by Charlie McDowell, the film is set one year after Thomas Harbor (Robert Redford) made the astonishing, and scientifically proven discovery that the afterlife – or at least some form of next plane of existence – is real. With the news came a dramatic rise in the number of suicides as people decided to end it all on the mortal coil and run down the curtain to join the choir invisible.

Against this chilly backdrop, Thomas' son Will (Jason Segel) is trying to deal with the situation and slowly falling for Isla (Rooney Mara), whose past is haunted by tragedy.

Riley Keough and Jesse Plemons are also part of the cast for the film, which arrives via Netflix on 31 March.
