After weeks of speculation, Leonardo DiCaprio finally announced late last week which will be his next movie - and walked straight into another controversy. Having already been linked with the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's All the Pretty Horses (Matt Damon got the role); Spike Lee's Son of Sam project; Bombshell: The Secret Story of America's Unknown Atomic Spy Conspiracy; and - most famously - the adaptation of American Psycho, he's now opted for The Beach. Directed by Danny Boyle, it's based on the 1996 novel by Alex Garland that includes marijuana and psychedelic drug use scenes, and film reviewers and analysts are already predicting anti-Leo backlashes in some parts of the States as a result.
