French horror filmmaker Pascal Laugier has only just become attached to write and direct the forthcoming remake of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser – but that hasn’t stopped him from lining up another project.
Laugier has signed on to write and direct Details, about a desperate father’s search for his daughter, who disappears after awakening supernatural forces that reside in the everyday patterns of life. What’s that old saying about the devil being in the details?
Hmm… intriguing. Laugier, whose debut film, Martyrs, caused a stir at the Cannes Film Festival this year, will rewrite the screenplay by Dan Kay, which is based on a short story by China Mieville. Paramount Vantage is footing the bill, along with Blumhouse Prods.
It’s not clear, though, whether Laugier will do this before Hellraiser. Guess it’ll all come down to the fine details for him…
