Having won an Oscar in 2012 for co-writing The Descendants, Jim Rash and Nat Faxon moved on to writing and directing with 2013's The Way Way Back. They've now sold a slasher comedy script called Dead Mall and are looking to make it as a new project.

20th Century Fox has splashed the cash for this one, which is reportedly set inside, as the title might suggest, a disused mall. Once a shiny paean to shopping, this place, like so many like it, has become an empty monument to consumerism as business moved online. Now, a group of 40-somethings is trapped inside with an insane killer and they'll have to try to survive...

There's no word yet on when they might get to work or, like The Way Way Back, whether they'll pop up in the cast, but we're intrigued to see what a comedy horror film from this two looks like. Faxon most recently acted in comedy drama Operator, while Rash, a veteran of Community, has been making regular guest appearances in shows such as The Odd Couple.
