British theatre audiences, who've been spoiled of late with the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche and Kevin Spacey treading the boards may soon be treated to a performance by Johnny Depp. Speaking at Yahoo Chat this week, the Sleepy Hollow star said he'd like to try out some theatre, saying 'I haven't found exactly the play I'd like to do, but it would be fun and a good education. Clearly Depp is searching to broaden his horizons as he also admitted to wanting to try his hand at directing. 'There's a film I'd like to do,' he told fans. 'Hopefully we'll do it next year - there's a script by Neil Jimnez, It Only Rains at Night...I was thinking about asking Tim [Burton] to do a cameo. I think he is a great actor. He has it in him, definitely.' Other plans include Depp in talks with Hunter S Thompson to produce another movie version of one of his books, the Rum Diary. And how does Mr Depp chill out of an evening? He watches The Fast Show of course. 'It's the funniest, most brilliant thing I've ever seen in my life.' According to one of the show's creators, Paul Whitehouse, Depp is such a fan he wants to star in a Fast Show special that they're 'probably' going to put together soon.
