It might only be a brief new look at the 697th adaptation of Stephen King's work headed our way, but new teaser for the remake of Pet Sematary puts the chills front and centre.

Like the much-maligned 1989 original, this once again adapts King's 1983 novel. Here, Starry Eyes directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer are behind the camera, with David Kajganich and Jeff Buhler on script duty.

The story sees Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.

You see, anything buried in that cursed plot of land comes back to life... But isn't ever quite right in any number of terrifying ways. And that's before terrors from the family's past also come back to haunt them.

Pet Sematary (for the spelling pedants out there, that's how it's written on the sign in the book and movies) will creep into cinemas on 5 April. We really hope there are zero "bring your reanimated dog" screenings...
