The Hollywood Reporter claims that Robert De Niro is in final negotiations to star in Out On My Feet, a $9 million indie pic about former cruiserweight champion Vinnie Curto. De Niro is set to play Curto's trainer Angelo Dundee, who steers the boxer to victory after he is abused by his father. Curto will take the part of the dominant patriarch, and Barry Primus will direct. Primus previously worked with De Niro on the 1992 film Mistress, whilst the actor himself, lest we forget, collected an Oscar for his performance as prizefighter Jake La Motta in Scorsese's acclaimed 1980 film Raging Bull.
