David R Ellis is switching from slithering snakes to psycho college students.

Yes, fresh from wrangling a pack of noodles with teeth, not to mention Samuel L Jackson, the Snakes On A Plane director has signed on the direct Asylum, based on a script by Ethan Lawrence.

The plot, unsurprisingly enough, concerns a college dorm building that its inhabitants discover used to be a mental institution. Strange howls, food over the walls and groaning creatures? How will anyone tell the difference?
