In his continued efforts to stretch the ol' acting muscles and find different roles for himself, Daniel Radcliffe has decided to start smuggling drugs. But only on a fictional basis, as he's playing a narcotics-running pilot in new action thriller Beast Of Burden.

Swedish director Jesper Ganslandt will be handling this one, which has a script from Adam Hoelzel. Beast finds Radcliffe's flyer transporting drugs across the border between Mexico and the US who has to somehow evade both the DEA and the Cartels over the course of one day. Naturally, you've got to think that something will go wrong.

The movie marks Ganslandt's English-language debut and marks just the latest in a different choice of parts for Radcliffe. He's on screens now in Imperium and will also show up in action adventure movie Jungle, which doesn't have a UK release yet.

Radcliffe recently sat down with the Empire Podcast, and you can check out our interview special with him below.
