No-one would accuse Daniel Radcliffe of taking the easy path post-Potter. With Swiss Army Man – AKA The Farting Corpse Movie – en route and turns as Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings and the goat-headed Ig in Horns behind him, he’s very obviously not afraid to take on tight-wire projects. And more power to him. As this new clip shows, his next, undercover neo-Nazi drama Imperium, is very much in the same spirit. Have a look below as he mixes it with white supremacists. Warning: much swearing is involved.

Radcliffe here is Nate Foster, an idealistic young FBI analyst with little field experience who is handed a tough assignment by boss Toni Collette. He's going undercover with a radical right-wing terrorist group, and will need to delve into his new personality to pass muster with the supremacists he'll be looking to help take down.

Writer/director Daniel Ragussis has gone for a thriller in the spirit of Donnie Brasco or Deep Cover that's fuelled with some worryingly topical themes. Nate keeps his principles but finds it tough to maintain the illusion while some very dangerous people and fomenting their latest, explosive plan.

Burn Gorman, Nestor Carbonell, Sam Trammell, The Knick’s Chris Sullivan – the neo-Nazi with the head wound here – and Seth Numrich also feature in the film. It’ll hit UK screens on September 23, and the trailer is online now.
