John Cusack isn't the sort to let a cancelled project - the appropriately named Stopping Power - stop him. He's filled in his pre-strike schedule with The Factory instead, a psychological thriller due to start shooting in January.

Cusack stars as an obsessed copy hunting for a serial killer, along with his partner, in Buffalo NY. When his teenage daughter disappears, any restraint he had vanishes and he goes all out to get the man responsible.

Morgan O'Neill, winner of the Aussie Project Greenlight, is directing, and co-wrote the script with sometime actor Paul Leyden. If this works, it could be rather interesting - after all, with the possible exception of Zodiac (because it's something a little more complicated) it's been ages since we had a proper hunt-the-serial-killer thriller. More on this as we get it.
