Tom Cruise is continuing his campaign to reinvent himself as a sleazy, creepy guy with a series of bogus adverts to plug his new film Magnolia, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The star has conned the Hollywood public by starring in a string of sleazy TV ads which cast Cruise as foul-mouthed vice merchant Frank TJ Mackay. Cruise's character is seen between two underwear-clad models selling a guaranteed seduction system to help men bed the women they want, saying "Tap into her hopes, her wants, her fears, her desire - and her sweet little panties." In the ads - being shown in the early hours of the morning in Los Angeles - the title of the movie is deliberately not mentioned as Cruise adds, "Learn how to make that lady friend your sex servant", before asking people to phone 1-877-TAME- HER.
