Tom Cruise has rescued a damsel in distress from a gang of muggers, it has been revealed. The diminutive Jerry Maguire star rushed to the aid of his neighbour, Rita Simmonds as she was attacked in the street of their London suburb. From his home in Cumberland Terrace near Regent's Park, Cruise heard the woman's screams as two men tried to snatch her jewellery. Cruise and his minders stopped the attack and ran down the road in an effort to catch the assailants, but the muggers escaped with jewellery worth
