What do you get the woman who has everything for Valentine's Day? How about a partner-swapping novel? Unusual choice of present, but that's what Nicole Kidman's husband Tom bought her in a deal that saw off both Demi Moore and Oprah Winfrey. Bidding over Celia Brayfield's book Heartswap, which isn't due out until June, grew increasingly fierce in the latter stages as Cruise, Moore and Winfrey battled it out. Cruise eventually won the war with a final bid of $650,000. 'Cruise had got hold of a pirated copy of the manuscript and put in a pre-emptive strike,' says Brayfield. 'I'm absolutely blown away.' The novel focuses on two thirtysomething women - one of which is to be played by Kidman - who decide to seduce each other's fiance.
