It's a match made in heaven - or at least Hollywood. Russell Crowe is set to reteam with his ol' directing buddy Ridley Scott for a fourth time (fifth if you count the also-planned Nottingham). He's in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio in Body of Lies, formerly known as Penetration, and based on the novel by David Ignatius.

The modern-day thriller sees a CIA operative Roger Ferris (DiCaprio) attempt to catch a deadly Al Qaeda leader by planting evidence that his target is working with the US on the corpse of a CIA spy (incidentally, a technique also used by the Allies in World War II before D-Day, fact fans). However, as the plot gets more complex, Ferris must enlist the help of Ed Hoffman (Crowe), the manipulative CIA boss of the Jordan field office, who may or may not (we haven't read the novel yet, but we're guessing) have his own agenda.

The script was written by Kingdom of Heaven's William Monahan, but Crowe's apparently waiting for a polish by American Gangster's Steve Zaillian (also the director of All The King's Men last year) before he formally commits. Still, given the presence of his bestest mate Scott, the signs are looking good for a DiCaprio-Crowe double-header.
