The Crow Reboot Is Trying To Fly Again

The Crow

The 1994 adaptation of James O'Barr's graphic novel The Crow led to three cinematic sequels and a short-lived TV spin-off. Since then? The idea has been stumbling through the reboot process, briefly flaring back to life before vanishing into the ether again, most recently with director Corin Hardy trying to wrangle it. Now, though, the needle has flicked back to "active development".

Bloody Disgusting brings word that Samuel Hadida's Davis Films is leading the charge, aiming to finally bring the story of murdered rocker Eric Draven back to life. Which is ironic when you consider that his supernatural, vengeful resurrection is a key part of the narrative.

As always seems to be the case with these reboots, yet another writer and director will climb aboard and attempt to apply some CPR to the concept. We'll have to see if this one finally flies from limbo or has its wings clipped once again.
