It seems like everyone’s doing television these days. The latest heavy hitter to make the leap is David Cronenberg.

The History Of Violence director is adapting his 1988 cult thriller Dead Ringers for US channel HBO.

Ringers starred Jeremy Irons as twin gynaecologists who go insane after falling for the same woman. It’s not known how much of the film will feature in the show.

Wesley Strick – who most recently worked on Doom – is writing the pilot, which Cronenberg will direct.
