Crispin Glover Joins Alice In Wonderland

Tim Burton's movie just got weirder

It’s probably fair to say that Tim Burton’s take on Alice In Wonderland might be a little… weird.

Well, it just got weirder, with the news that the awesome and kooky Crispin Glover has become the latest actor to join the project.

Glover will play the Knave Of Hearts in the movie, which will use a combination of live-action and motion-capture to bring Lewis Carroll’s magical fantasy to life.

The Knave, in case you can’t recall, features in Chapter 11 of the book – Who Stole The Tarts? Accused by the Queen Of Hearts of stealing some jam tarts, the Knave is put on increasingly absurd trial, with Alice defending his honour, in a madcap scene that should, if Burton is being faithful, feature Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter.

Glover, of course, was last seen in Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf, so he has previous when it comes to this type of movie. And he’ll fit in perfectly with a cast that also includes Michael Sheen, Anne Hathaway and – as Alice herself – Mia Wasikowska.

Truth be told, we’re a little surprised that it’s taken Burton and Glover so long to hook up – we already can’t wait to see the supremely demented results.
