She's been cropping up in big and interesting projects of late, including Crazy Rich Asians and Netflix series Maniac, and for her next big screen role Sonoya Mizuno is stepping into performance capture. She'll play one of the lead roles in Mouse Guard.

Mouse Guard, adapted by Gary Whitta, was originally published by Archaia and Boom! Studios. David Petersen's title is set in a medieval world and tells of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm, seeing off foxes, eagles and threats from other rodents.

Wes Ball is directing the film, which already boasts Andy Serkis (as a loyal blacksmith turned antagonist), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (as a heroic young fighter) and Idris Elba (as a wise mentor figure who has been missing for some time), and has Matt Reeves on as a producer. It's in pre-production but has yet to lock down a release date.

As for Mizuno, she's worked on indie thriller Ambition and has reunited with her Ex Machina director Alex Garland for his new FX series Devs.
