She's seen real success on the screenwriting front, and now Crazy Rich Asians and Raya And The Last Dragon's Adele Lim is making the leap into directing. She'll be behind a new untitled comedy to star Ashley Park (probably best known for her role as Mindy Chen in Netflix’s Emily In Paris).
Written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao, the R-rated comedy will follow four Asian-American women who are travelling through Asia in search of one of their birth mothers. Along the way, their experience becomes one of bonding, friendship, belonging, and no-holds-barred wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will produce via their Point Grey company, and Lionsgate is stumping up the money to make it. Lim should have the cameras rolling this autumn.
