The release of David Cronenberg's controversial Crash in the UK may have been seen as a victory for anti-censorship libertarians, but it could provoke a backlash that would result in tighter regulations being imposed on the amount of sex and violence that is permissible in films shown in the UK. According to yesterday's Daily Telegraph, mounting political pressure may force BBFC head James Ferman to resign. Conservative MP Julian Brazier said to the paper, "We have got to find ways of curbing the way in which videos and films are encouraging the culture of violence by glamorising it." Any ideas then?
