Couples Retreat Finds Its Better Halves

Bell, Davis and Akerman up for comedy

Couples Retreat Finds Its Better Halves

A few weeks ago, we brought you news that Vince Vaughn and Jon ‘Favreau’ Favs were set to reteam on a new comedy called Couples Retreat, about four couples who enrol at a couples therapy program on a tropical island retreat – the twist being that only one of the couples is genuinely there to try to save their marriage.

And now, at long last, the better halves of the already-cast Favs, Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Faizon Love have been found. Well, three of them anyway.

Kristen Bell, determinedly making the move to the big screen with this and Mark Steven Johnson’s forthcoming When In Rome, has signed on to play Jason Bateman’s missus (age difference aside, they might just be the cutest couple around). Kristin Davis will play Favs’ wife, while Malin Akerman – soon to be seen as Silk Spectre in Watchmen – will play Vaughn’s spouse, and hopefully further displaying the comedy chops she showed in The Heartbreak Kid.

No word on who’s playing Love’s wife yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

Peter Billingsley will direct the comedy, from a script by Favs himself. Scott Stuber will produce and the whole shebang will lens in Bora Bora and LA, making this the most hotly contested set visit in Empire history.
