Copley, Baldwin and Arterton for MIB III

Pajiba played host to their mysterious buddy The Hollywood Cog recently, and learned that Sharlto Copley, Alec Baldwin and Gemma Arterton are all in negotiations for roles in **MIB III.

As previously reported, the new 3D instalment will see Will Smith time-travelling between the present day and 1969, teaming up with Josh Brolin as a young Tommy-Lee Jones. Emma Thompson has already signed on as the modern head of the Men in Black, and Baldwin's role is as her opposite number in the '60s. Arterton would be playing "a secretary", again in the past, while Copley's character is described as "a fast-talking Yoda-type alien". There might also be a cameo for The Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger.

Those are the only details so far, so the size of the individual roles is unclear. The plot is still under wraps, but we do know that it involves Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement as the big bad. We can't imagine Copley being offered a small role, so could the Yoda alien be Clements' henchman, or is he an ally to the MIB? Will Baldwin get more screentime than Thompson? And how hot will Arterton look in '60s office-wear?

If we knew the answers, we'd probably be subjected to the Neuraliser mind-wipe anyway. What we do know is that Barry Sonnenfeld is directing, and that shooting gets underway imminently in New York.
