Ever thought about just how many germs you come into contact with each day? Just how much cross-contamination there is between all the other people you meet, those mucus-ridden, sneeze-happy weirdoes only too happy to spread their filthy viruses to you? Clearly writer Scott Z Burns and director Steven Soderbergh have, because it’s that sort of thinking that powers their latest pic, Contagion. And now the trailer is waiting for exposure over at Apple.
Soderbergh’s new thriller is a ticking time bomb of spreading disease: Matt Damon looking worried, Kate Winslet trying to find solutions and (spoiler alert even though it’s right there in the trailer) Gwyneth Paltrow carking it.
From the looks of this, it’s going to be a killer pulse-pounder, with the likes of Damon, Winslet, Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Bryan Cranston, John Hawkes and Jennifer Ehle coping in different ways as a virulent version of the bird flu disperses rapidly across several continents. Cue death! Cue panic! Cue high-level meetings! Cue people shouting!
