The Conjuring May Spawn A Sequel

James Wan’s latest horror tale, The Conjuring, is only just about to howl into US cinemas, but the buzz is so good that Warner Bros. and New Line are considering a potential sequel already.

That shouldn’t be too much of a tall order, given that The Conjuring is drawn from the files of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played in the film by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

The current film focuses on the case of the Perron family, who in the 1970s were plagued with ghostly problems at their remote farmhouse. Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston play Roger and Carolyn, the parents of five girls who endured a traumatic experience.

Wan – who hasn’t necessarily confirmed that he’ll be back immediately, particularly since he’s currently busy working on the next instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise – is a huge Warren fan and will likely want to keep chronicling their world. But we do know Conjuring writers Chad and Carey Hayes are already on board.

Given that the Warrens are the investigators who tackled the case chronicled in** The Amityville Horror**, there are plenty of other spooky files lurking in their records. The Conjuring, meanwhile, creeps over here on August 2.
