As director Matt Reeves brings his next Apes outing, War For The Planet Of The Apes to the New York Comic-Con, we can expect to see more from the movie in the days ahead. First up? A digital billboard that hit Times Square to announce the movie's arrival.

The intriguing new image coalesces to form Andy Serkis' ape leader Caesar, warning that "war has begun."

And how: a quick glance at the official synopsis for the movie adds to the story... "Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet."

Woody Harrelson is on as that Colonel, with Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary also in the cast. War For The Planet Of The Apes heads to UK shores on 14 July next year.
