If you were hoping that Marvel and Netflix would be sending something for Iron Fist to Comic-Con, you were in luck. Speaking in a video from the set, star Finn Jones introduced the first teaser footage for the show, which is now online.

Iron Fist, A.K.A. Danny Rand (Jones), dates back to the Bruce Lee-obsessed days of the early ‘70s. To borrow from Black Dynamite, it combines “scientific biological transmogrification” (he got a superfist by placing his hand in a molten dragon heart) with “kung-fu treachery” (his parents’ business partner Harold Meachum caused both their deaths when Rand was a nipper). He starts out with revenge in mind, before new adversaries spring up around him.

In the series' story, he returns to New York after vanishing for a few years, and sets like, much like his future compatriots, to use his powers for fighting crime in the city. In addition to the teaser, the poster for the show has also arrived. Stylish, though we do wonder if Daenerys Targaryen might show up claiming the dragon as one of hers.

And as one extra surprise, The Punisher himself (AKA actor Jon Bernthal) showed up, fortunately packing nothing more lethal than extreme gratitude for the chance to keep playing Frank Castle, who now has his own spin-off series. “I know how much he means to you guys and I take that with me every day, and I know how much this character matters, I know how much he means to the military to law enforcement,” he said. “So I take it as an enormous honour.”

In addition to the initial look at Iron Fist and the new teaser for one of the other Defenders characters (you can see the Luke Cage footage here), there was news that Daredevil has been renewed for Season 3 (not a real shock) and then a brief teaser for The Defenders as a whole, which is sitting below.

Iron Fist has yet to announce a date for it to arrive on Netflix, but it should be on our screens next year.
