Wrapping up Saturday's main portion of panels in Hall H at this year's Comic-Con, Marvel and Netflix's The Defenders brought a surprise for fans: the entire first episode. That is, somewhat naturally, not online, but there is a new trailer for those that have to wait until next month...

Before he got to the Defenders themselves, Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb had a visit from Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher (well, actor Jon Bernthal), who brought the first footage from his titular show. It was as violent as you might figure, with the vengeful warrior tracking down those who took his family from him, running down bikers, sniping cartel bosses from miles away and even strangling a suited villain in a toilet. Yes, not even the loo is safe.

With his mini-presentation complete, Loeb welcomed the Defenders themselves – Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones), plus guest stars Sigourney Weaver, Elodie Yung, Deborah Ann Woll, Jessica Henwick and co-executive producer Marco Ramirez. It was a weirdly quick panel, with brief questions for all involved, until, of course, the big reveal of the premiere screening that had the audience cheering.

The Defenders will arrive on Netflix on 18 August.
