After spent decades in relative Hollywood obscurity, A Star Is Born star, Kris Kristofferson is set to hit the big time again. After playing a vampire hunter with Wesley Snipes in recent box office hit Blade, he landed the leading role in A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries and is now rumoured to be teaming up with Mel Gibson, Martin Landau and Brenda Blethyn in a variety of new projects. Based on the memoirs of Kaylie Jones, the daughter of James Jones and author of From Here To Eternity, A Soldier's Daughter is a high-brow flick which traces the Joneses as expatriates in Paris and as aliens back in their native United States. For Kristofferson though, a second chance to be a Hollywood big shot is not the ideal. The aspiring writer has his sights firmly set on being the new Shakespeare who, Kristofferson reckons, was an actor but was better known for his writing.
