Coltrane Eyes Up Harry

Either we're telepathic or Hollywood is listening to Empire Online. Last week (13/6) we revealed that the only other adult star linked to the Harry Potter film aside from Maggie Smith was Robbie Coltrane. So no surprise here when it was confirmed last night (19/6) that Coltrane was in talks for the role of Hagrid in the movie. 'Robbie is in negotiations to appear in the film,' said a spokesperson for the actor, 'but that's all we can say at this stage.' Potter is hot news this week - Variety reported on Sunday that another British actor Tim Roth was in talks to play Professor Snape, while the PA today has Haley Joel Osment fighting for the role. 'You can put the word out,' he told reporters, 'and I'll start working on my accent.' Presumably Haley has decided to ignore director Chris Columbus' promise to use an English actor in the role.
