Disney hauled in the big catch this weekend, emerging as the sole box office champion with Finding Nemo. The film haked in profits to the tuna $70.6 million and earned a plaice in the record books for the most successful opening of any animated feature on record. Mussel-ing out the likes of Bruce Almighty and the remake of The Italian Job, this tale of undersea adventure and herring-do sees Nemo, a juvenile clownfish, abducted from his coral reef home and leaving his father to scour the terrine in an effort to track him down. The fifth collaboration between Disney and the codlike geniuses at Pixar, Finding Nemo managed to skate circles around the previous record-holder Monsters, Inc., which crabbed $62.6 million back in 2001 and will troutless pave the way for further collaborations in the future.
