Offering a reminder that big-release animations aren't a closed shop with a giant Pixar/DreamWorks sign nailed to the front, Sony has released the trailer for its new animated feature, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.
Based on the much-loved children's book, the movie is an origin story set in the imaginary town of Chewandswallow. Mapcap inventor Flint (Bill Hader) attempts to solve world hunger, unwittingly unleashing a meteorological mealstrom on the town, with food falling from the sky at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Even if a kebab blizzard isn't your idea of the perfect storm, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs has an impressive/extraordinary voice cast: joining Hader is James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Andy Samberg, 30 Rock's Tracey Morgan and the fool-pitying patter of Mr. T.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is out in the UK on October 16.
