It's felt like Wes Anderson has been MIA since The Life Aquatic in 2004, but fear not, because he's returning once more, and we're looking forward to it. His adaptation of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox is gearing up, and talks are now underway with two of Hollywood's finest, silver fox George Clooney and foxy lady Cate Blanchett, to voice the titular Fantastic character and his missus.

For those of you who somehow failed to read the book as children (shame on you) the story is about a clever fox who has to outwit three cruel farmers who are trying to kill him and his family. The plan for the film is to do it in a stop-motion, The Corpse Bride-style, and, like that Tim Burton film, it will also be shot here in the UK.

Clooney and Blanchett, of course, also worked together on the forthcoming The Good German for Steven Soderbergh, so this would be a sort-of reunion, only (we're guessing) without the German accents and murder mystery. Meanwhile, Anderson is still editing The Darjeeling Ltd. with Natalie Portman, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman, in New York.
