He's part of the cast for Luc Besson's Valerian already, and now Clive Owen is looking to stay in the world of science fiction. He'll star in Anon for Andrew Niccol.

The Gattaca director, who stumbled with films such as In Time and The Host, rebounded with drone drama Good Kill and is now dipping back into the realm of speculative fiction. Anon will see Owen as a detective working in a near-future world where there is no privacy, anonymity or ignorance, which sounds like it could either be terrifying or liberating (probably the former). When he learns of a young woman who apparently doesn't exist, he begins to question whether the transparent society really can be crime free, or whether it's the biggest threat we face.

Hopefully it'll be Niccol in full creative flow, with production aiming at kicking off later this year. Owen will next be seen in comedy The Confirmation and, of course, the aforementioned Valerian, which goes by the full title Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets.
