David Fincher is receiving plenty of positive reviews for his latest, The Social Network (you can read our take right here), but his mind is already elsewhere: Sweden, to be exact, where he’s hard at work on the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. And now he’s hired Christopher Plummer to play the wealthy industrialist{ =nofollow}who has a crucial role in the story.

Plummer’s Henrik Vanger is the man who hires journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) to investigate the dark mystery his family has been concealing for years.

Rooney Mara is also on board playing the other central character, tattooed hacker/private eye Lisbeth Salander, while Robin Wright is Erika Berger, Blomkvist’s business partner, and Stellan Skarsgard is Martin Vanger, Henrik’s nephew.

With a script from Steven Zaillian, the addition of Plummer just makes us anticipate this one even more. The actor scored his first ever Oscar nomination this year for Tolstoy story The Last Station, but we’re betting more of you heard him as the brave adventurer turned obsessed villain Charles Muntz in Pixar’s Up.
