Actress/director Christine Lahti has nabbed two jobs on upcoming films.

First up, she’s just sealed a deal to helm Any Way You Want Me, a drama about the frayed relationship between a mother and daughter. Marjorie Salvaterra has adapted the script from a Kathryn Stern novel.

And Lahti will also be acting in Noam Murrow’s Smart People, alongside Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker. That starts shooting next week, but she hasn’t been sitting around. TV viewers will get to see her playing a journalist in a recurring role on Aaron Sorkin’s new show, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, which is produced and often directed by her husband, Thomas Schlamme. We're sure there's a casting couch joke here somewhere...
