Adapting a comedy chat-up guide

Chris Weitz will adapt and produce a film based on seduction guidebook The Game: Penetrating The Secret Society Of Pickup Artists.

Written by Neil Strauss, it’s a first-person account of his makeover from clumsy oaf to Casanova, and was originally published in the New York Times.

The book contained lots of new vocabulary - it aimed to help AFCs (average frustrated chumps) who were trying to bed "HBs" (hot babes) by teaching them to FMAC (find, meet, attract, close). Ye gods. It's like the last 100 years of women's lib never happened. The guru of the group is a man named "Mystery", apparently, presumably as in "It's a mystery to us why he hasn't been torn apart by a mob of angry feminists".

There’s no director or cast attached yet.
