Though indie sports comedy Million Dollar Man was announced back in the thin air and heady deal-making world of Sundance back in January, the movie has faced a slow slog through the development marshes since then. But now things are looking up, as Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui has entered talks to take the female lead.

Million Dollar Man will see Luke Wilson starring as a down-on-his-luck soda truck driver who feels like he’s missed out on living the life he wants until he gets a second chance as an American football player. Chriqui is locking down a deal to play the love interest who helps to get him into shape and spur his ambitions.

Bobby Lee, last seen as Mr Lao in The Dictato****r, is set to play Wilson’s nemesis. Scott Marshall will direct the film from Alex Schrader’s script. They’ve managed to get the project into pre-production, but there’s no word on when the cameras will be cranking just yet.
