The long-gestating remake of horror classic Suspiria is slowly coming together, with Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson aboard to star. Chloe Moretz is the latest to join the cast.

A Bigger Splash director Luca Guadagnino is making this one, having already recruited two of his Bigger Splash cast and Mia Goth for the new movie.

David Kajganich has written the latest script for the film, which will be based on the movie by Dario Argento and Daria Nicolodi. The 1977 original finds a young ballet performer travelling to a prestigious dance academy in Europe. But once she arrives, she discovers a far more dangerous undercurrent than the usual rivalry between dancers: there is something supernatural and terrifying at work here, and people are starting to die in grisly fashion... "My version is going to be set in Berlin in 1977," Guadagnino told Empire last year. "It’s going to be about the mother and the concept of motherhood and about the uncompromising force of motherhood. It’s going to be about finding your inner voice – the title is very evocative on these grounds."

With Moretz aboard, the film is now free to kick off shooting and Guadagnino should be starting work later this month in Italy and Hungary. The actress was last seen in Bad Neighbours 2 and has biopic Brain On Fire and crime drama November Criminals awaiting release dates.
