There were some familiar winners on the lists for this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards, given that many of the people here had already picked up previous trophies for their performances. The late Chadwick Boseman, for example, once again for his work in *Ma Rainey's Black Bottom*.
This year's ceremony, like so many, was conducted mostly over Zoom (helpfully pre-recorded to cut down on glitches) and, once again, Boseman's wife Simone Ledward Boseman accepted the Male Actor in a Leading Role award in his place.
Boseman's Ma Rainey co-star Viola Davis was named Female Actor in a Leading Role, while Daniel Kaluuya took home another gong – Male Actor in a Supporting Role – for Judas And The Black Messiah. Female Actor in a Supporting Role went to Minari's Youn Yuh-Jung. The Trial Of The Chicago 7 nabbed the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, with Wonder Woman 1984 winning the Stunt Ensemble award.
On the TV front, Mark Ruffalo won the Male Actor TV Movie or Limited Series award for I Know This Much Is True. Anya Taylor-Joy took home the Female Actor trophy for Queen's Gambit in the same category.
Ozark's Jason Bateman won Male Actor in a Drama Series with The Crown's Gillian Anderson taking Female Actor in a Drama series. the comedy series Male Actor gong went to Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis, while Schitt's Creek won both the Comedy Ensemble and Female Actor for recurring awards favourite Catherine O'Hara. The Drama Ensemble gong was given to The Crown. Finally, the TV Stunt Ensemble pick was The Mandalorian.
