Casablanca Sequel Storm…

One of the original Casablanca writers is reportedly fuming over Time Warner's plans to release a sequel to the movie as a novel and the company's presumed intention to turn it into a movie in the future. According to the New York Daily News, Leslie Epstein - the son and nephew of the two brothers who penned the classic 1942 tale - reckons his 87-year-old Uncle Julius does nothing but curse those behind the scheme from his LA rest home. Epstein, himself a novelist, told the newspaper that his uncle is enraged that the real writers of Casablanca earned just $15,000 for the script, while millions of dollars are at stake with this latest project.
