You might have thought that Zack Snyder has cast enough people to populate his next Netflix movie, sci-fi adventure Rebel Moon. But he's not finished adding actors, with Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman and Alfonso Herrera the last batch.
Snyder's new movie, which he wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, is loosely based on a concept that the director had intended to pitch to Lucasfilm for a new Star Wars movie (and whose forward progress was scrapped after Disney bought the company).
Rebel Moon is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman (Sofia Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.
Alongside Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Jena Malone, Ray Fisher, Rupert Friend and Stuart Martin are all already in the ensemble. Snyder will have the cameras rolling this year.
