If you want to get the jump on everyone by seeing Ron Howard’s The Da Vinci Code early, you’ll have to get yourself to the Cannes Film Festival – and be prepared to fight your way through the crowds.

The Tom Hanks-starring film will open the 59th Festival de Cannes on May 17, two days before its worldwide release.

Based on the mammoth-selling thriller by Dan Brown, the film is a religion-bating whodunit about a plot to conceal the true meaning of the Holy Grail.
