Cementing her return after taking a long break from acting, Cameron Diaz has secured a follow-up to incoming Jamie Foxx pic Back In Action. She'll star opposite Keanu Reeves in Outcome, which will be the latest directing gig for Jonah Hill.
Co-written by Hill and Ezra Woods, Outcome follows Reef (Reeves), a tarnished Hollywood star who must plumb the dark depths of his past to deal with his demons and make amends after he is extorted via a mysterious video clip.
Since it's described as a "dark comedy", we don't think this will turn out to be a The Ring situation, so we doubt there'll be any straggly haired girls climbing out of wells. But you also have to wonder who would have the guts to extort a man who has killed so many people in the course of several John Wick movies.
From the looks of the cast list, Hill will also step in front of the camera for the film (perhaps he's the one doing the extorting, which as mentioned, will surely not end well for him), but Deadline's story has no details on who Diaz will play.
Apple Studios is backing this one, though there is no word on whether it'll be in cinemas or go straight to Apple TV+.
