It appears Cameron Diaz will be deviously plotting in a future comedy. She’s now attached to star in revenge pic **The Other Woman, with Kristen Wiig being targetted for one of the other leads.

Written by Melissa Stack, the script finds a woman (most likely Diaz) discovering that she’s actually the third person in a love triangle.

But instead of the usual recriminations, she decides to team up with the wronged wife to dish out a little vengeance on the cheating husband.

The Wrap’s story doesn’t specify who'd play which role, but either way we figure Wiig would make for a good partner-in-revenge for Diaz.

Described as in the vein of 1996’s The First Wives’ Club, which saw Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton getting their own back on philandering hubbies, the new film is currently making its way through development and hunting down a director.

Diaz was last seen in What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Next for her is Gambit (due November 21) and work as one of the voices in A Liar’s Autobiography. She’s also finished work on Ridley Scott’s latest, The Counselor.
