The first teaser trailer for claustrophobic thriller Buried has arrived online and you can watch it in HD over at Apple.
The film finds Ryan Reynolds as Paul Conroy, an American contractor in Iraq who is kidnapped after an attack and – as the title suggests – buried alive in a coffin beneath the ground.
All he has to keep him company is a cell phone with a dying battery and a dodgy signal, and a lighter.
To be honest, if there’s any trailer that truly didn’t need high quality footage is this one, since it’s largely a black screen with just a flicker of light for a few seconds as Reynolds flicks on the lighter. But it’s hugely effective and has us itching to see this thing, particularly as we’re promised that it takes place almost completely in the coffin.
Buried arrives on 8 October.
