Never before in the annals of Hollywood history has it been so good to be a British bloke. Just a few weeks ago, we had the story that Gwyneth was heading for these shores in search of a mate. Now Paltrow's big screen rival Sandra Bullock has confessed that she's got a yen for the English accent. Speaking to the US TV show Entertainment Tonight about her latest movie Murder By Numbers, in which she stars with English actor Ben Chaplin, Bullock was quizzed about why she so regularly choses British blokes as her co-stars. 'I don't know!' Bullock exclaims. 'Michael Caine, Dominic West, I'm a Brit-phile, you know! Once again it came down to the best actor. Ben does an American accent that's better than the way most of us speak English, which is really frightening! He would be speaking American and the minute that they said "Cut!" he goes back to Ben.' So has working with all this UK talent rubbed off on Bullock? Apparently not, as she admits her accent is ' lousy! I figure if I hang around them long enough... but it's not really worked so far.'
